Fourteen Sarah Lawrence students spent the last five days of their Spring Break practicing on Marshall Field twice a day (including a 10 a.m. practice each day), visiting the batting cages in White Plains, ordering cheeseburgers the size of their heads at the Argonaut Diner, and spending quality team-bonding time together.

Recall the earliest time that you have ever woken up on the weekend.

Chances are the equestrian team probably has you beat.
Because there are no venues nearby for the team to show, the seventeen members of the team, along with the team’s coach Lori Rakoczy, must depart at 6 a.m. for their Saturday or Sunday show days with a return time that is usually no earlier than 6 p.m.

Mary Levine has been the Director of Physical Education and Athletics at Sarah Lawrence for 21 years. In that time Levine has seen the athletic program grow from a small program that had limited space for classes in Bates to a competitor in the Hudson Valley Athletic Conference that can proudly call the 48,000 square foot Campbell Sports Center its home for eight teams, numerous classes and other special events.
